I appreciate the history lesson. My humble opinion is Mr. Trump is slowly turning Washington DC into his version of the "Forbidden City." I see little difference in the manner in which the CCP is controlled and how Mr. Trump controls the Republican Party and Secretary of Defense controls the United States military. Anyone not in lockstep with Mr Trump is purged. (Hope I haven't upset anyone!)

I know you are at the Hoover Institute, and so you are probably of the opinion that taxes are too high on the rich, government is too big,... First, I would ask you to consider what most economists at Stanford and our other top institutions think. They will talk about things like externalities and the income and substitution effects. But second, I would ask you to consider, even if you believe that taxes are too high on the rich, government is too big, etc., is this really worth taking a very serious risk of making us like Putin's Russia? Is this really worth supporting -- or not opposing -- today's GOP, and being governed by people like Trump and Hesgeth, and more of the same after Trump passes away.
You are a man of honor and intelligence. It puzzles and pains me to see you not fighting in your country's hour of greatest need.
Your institutional knowledge and understanding of history fairly beg for you to call out the incompetence of Trump and his hand selected band of sycophantic misfits. Yet, you tow the party line.
This is great background that has been lacking in our State department for years . It is also lacking in Congressional staffs which need expertise in foreign policy as well as domestic politics .
They barely scratch the surface.
The complexities of international relationships are enormous and must be addressed with the realities of today.
The President must understand that leading from the front is not just appearing on the National and international stage and making announcements but to utilize all the tools available internally and externally internationally to win with dignity. The iron fist with the velvet glove. Knowing your enemies is the first step which doesn’t happen overnight. It requires a great deal of patience and the ability to balance the enormous everyday challenges.
This what our nation has to come to grips with when we elect representatives to Congress. It’s time to hold people accountable for their actions and stop the political circus. Obfuscation coming from our leaders must no longer be the standard. Empty barrels make the most noise. In the anniversary of our 250th birthday we should

With Xi’s generation, it has returned to his father’s generation of “the party’s interests come first.” There cannot be too much self-criticism of the party and not too much political liberalization because communism and the Marxist Leninist ideology is incredibly brittle. Too much liberalization and criticism will cause it to shatter and collapse; Xi’s generation witnessed this in the Soviet Union and vowed that China would not follow. Collectivism reigns supreme over individual initiative and Xi Thought makes the state supreme. If China kept to themselves then people wouldn’t be as worried, however, both Chinese nationalism and Marxism Leninism are imperialist and expansionist; both Chinese supremacy and the Marxist revolutionary spirit demand that it be exported, just like the Soviet Union once did; Marxism and communism are not compatible with any other political/economic system, so it must conquer and eliminate all other systems to promote world revolution.
The great tragedy was that the west assumed that China, once economically liberalized, would also liberalize politically; it was a colossal mistake that we will pay for into the 22nd century or longer, and sadly, some in the west still haven’t learned the lesson that communists, especially the CCP, are not our friends and cannot be trusted.
Weakness is something we dare not show, especially now; hopefully the current president will use this summit to make clear that we will not tolerate CCP subversion and intimidation. Showboating and saying we are deal makers will only hurt the free world; communists do not compromise, they conquer and destroy, anyone talking to them had better understand this.
Would someone tell our idiot President to cancel his trip to this physco leader who has murder his entire Senior Military Leadership Staff and is continuing to execute more fore unknown reasons. His purges are making Stalin look like Mother Theresa.
The United States does not reward such behavior to mentally unstable leaders and Trump yet again embarrasses the people of the United States of America. First Biden, second Elizabeth Warren, third Nancy Pelosi, forth Adam Shift, fifth Hakeem Jeffries, and finally our grand President Donald Trump. America's Leadership at it's best !
