I noticed you didn't mention the "rare earth mineral" deal Mr. Trump cut the DRC and Rwanda? Same deal Trump forced upon Ukraine. Otherwise, I enjoyed the article. Just the humble opinion of an old sailor,

Everything Trump does is transactional. No peace agreement between nations can be made without a reward for Trump/US. Trump likely benefits personally from any mineral rights or other things of value. He uses his real estate mentality to take his percentage from all brokered deals undoubtedly.

He’s not going to mention it. That would detract from his blind adoration of Trump.

You should read his book about his time as Trump’s NSA. McMaster is a US asset. He has a lot to offer his country.

I’ve watched him on the GoodFellows show from Stanford and the Hoover Institute since the beginning of that show during Covid. I’ve watched every single episode and most of his TV interviews. I have not read the book, but have read most of the reviews. As someone who should know better than anyone how dangerously incompetent Trump is, and how dangerously in love with Putin Trump is, McMaster NEVER criticizes Trump or tells the truth about Trump. I find that despicable and dangerous in its own way. McMaster is the only one of the Generals and National Security staff from Trump 1.0 who steadfastly refuses to say a single bad word about Trump. He writes an entire essay about how great it was that Trump was hard on Iran and had Soleimani killed, but ignores the fact that the staff members assigned to effectuate that task, including a GoodFellows friend and show guest, Mike Pompeo, all have assassination orders against them by Iran, and yet Trump gets reelected and callously cancels their security staff and hangs them out to dry and get shot on any given day. Does HR think that one day Trump might listen to him again and take his advice? Does he not care that his friends and colleagues have had their lives put in danger by a President that could not care less if they DIE because they either testified against him (Esper) or wrote a book criticizing him (Bolton)? I used to respect McMaster. Not anymore.

I can’t answer any of your questions. I recommend you read his book. Does he have to attack Trump every time he comments on anything? I don’t live in your country. I do recognise quality when I see it and McMaster has that.

I’m not talking about attacking Trump. I’m talking about telling the truth. McMaster has never even criticized Trump, except on very rare occasions and in the mildest way possible. He constantly criticizes Biden and the Biden administration, some of it deserved when it comes to Ukraine. But Trump hates Ukraine and has no intention of saving them from Russia. McMaster is blind to that reality; so is Niall Ferguson, his cohort at GoodFellows. The only one there that is starting to see the light, in terms of both Ukraine policy and Economics, is John Cochrane. McMaster and Ferguson both have blinders on.

Interesting post thank you. However I don’t think you can ever call anything that Trump does as noble. Everything he does is transactional and his sole Interest is in getting his chubby little hands on DRCs mineral wealth. He is just another colonialist attempting to grab Congos natural assets in a different guise and it’s rather disingenuous not to have that front and centre.

It’s my understanding that Elbridge Colby is behind yesterday’s order to halt weapons deliveries to Ukraine, including a rather large supply of Patriot missiles that are located in Poland and were ready for shipment just prior to yesterday’s disastrous order not to deliver them. And this right after the start of Russia’s summer offensive. HR, you have had Colby on GoodFellows as a guest, and the 3 of you GoodFellows refer to him as a friend. Can you please redeem yourself and talk to “Bridge” about backing off this betrayal of Ukraine and going forward with the delivery of what Congress authorized and Trump promised Zelensky while in Rome for the Pope’s funeral?

Yep, this was all Elbridge Colby.
